Recently, besides prominent names such as collagen, vitamin E… Gamma Oryzanol is emerging as a new power in the field of beauty with its powerful antioxidant ability, bringing surprising effects to health and beauty. beauty. Let’s take a look at some information from a scientific perspective about this nutrient.

Be amazed with the powerful anti-oxidant power

Gamma-Oryzanol is a powerful antioxidant, capable of repelling free radicals and protecting lipids in the skin from oxidation.

Scientists from Japan’s Hamasatsu University of Pharmacy and the American University of Kuwait said that the study results surprised many people when they discovered that Gamma-Oryzanol has an antioxidant capacity four times more effective than vitamins. E.

Not only has strong antioxidant capacity, Gamma-Oryzanol also has the “advantage” of effectively penetrating the skin, so it is recognized by the beauty industry and cosmetic manufacturing as an indispensable ingredient of cosmetics. Treatment formulas and high-end cosmetic lines help prevent skin aging.

In addition to its beauty benefits, Gamma-Oryzanol also has good effects on health, especially helping to lower cholesterol, promote blood circulation, protect heart health and blood pressure. Gamma-Oryzanol is an antioxidant, so it also helps inhibit the formation of free radicals – the cause of weakening cells in the body leading to aging and memory loss diseases, Dementia, Alzheimer’s…

With great uses for health and beauty, Gamma Oryzanol is increasingly being widely applied in many fields around the world. In Japan, Gamma-Oryzanol is considered an antioxidant on the list of nutrients permitted for use in pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, food,…

Gamma-Oryzanol is found only in pure rice oil, which is 4 times more effective in anti-oxidation than Vitamin E.

What is the difference between Gamma-Oryzanol and collagen?

Although both are applied in the pharmaceutical industry – cosmetics for health care and beauty, there are obvious differences between Gamma-Oryzanol and collagen in terms of origin, mechanism of action as well as uses.

In fact, collagen is a protein produced by the body itself, distributed mainly in the dermis and accounts for about 70% of the skin structure. Collagen is not an antioxidant but can be roughly understood as a type of filler, helping organs and tissues, especially the skin, gain firmness and elasticity. However, the effect of collagen is highly dependent on cutting technology (the smaller the cut, the more likely it is to penetrate the skin).

Meanwhile, Gamma-Oryzanol is found only in the bran coat of the rice grain. Through the process of extracting oil from rice bran, most of Gamma-Oryzanol is extracted into pure rice oil. Thanks to the “advantage” of good penetration through the skin, Gamma-Oryzanol promotes anti-aging effects by direct application effectively.

Gamma-Oryzanol also has the ability to slow down the progression of melanin pigment by blocking the impact of ultraviolet rays on the surface of the skin, hindering the dispersion of these ultraviolet rays on the skin. inhibits the formation of freckles, age spots, and tanning. Thanks to this property, Gamma-Oryzanol is often found in sunscreen and skin whitening products.

Pure rice oil (rich in Gamma-Oryzanol) has also been applied by many cosmetic companies in anti-aging skin and hair product lines, helping women have more new options in the work of preserving youth.

Gamma-Oryzanol is chosen by many women around the world as an effective anti-aging treatment.

Besides the trend of cosmetic beauty, Gamma-Oryzanol is also present in “home-made” beauty recipes as a natural beauty treatment that is very popular in Asian countries. In particular, pure rice oil is used alone or in combination with herbs, fruits, fresh milk … to create formulas for skin rejuvenation, sun protection, anti-pigmentation, damaged hair restoration … simple simple but effective.

Not stopping there, Gamma-Oryzanol also promotes anti-aging and disease prevention through food. In advanced countries such as the US, Japan, and Korea, rice oil is known as the healthiest cooking oil and is widely used in cooking at home.

From elaborate laboratory studies officially confirmed by scientists, Gamma-Oryzanol with its powerful antioxidant properties is emerging as a new star in the field of beauty and anti-aging. and is a safe and effective choice to help women maintain the youthfulness of their skin and hair.

Collagen plays an indispensable role in the health of the body as well as the skin. However, each type of collagen responsible for a different function.

Among them, collagen type 1, 2, 3 (type I, II, III) are most found in the body and play many important roles. Let’s join OIC NEW to find out what type 1, 2, 3 collagen is and what their role are!

1. What is Collagen?

Collagen is an important protein that accounts for 70% of skin structure and 25-35% of total protein in the body.

Collagen can be found in many connective tissues such as bones (20%), joints (50%), corneas (approximately 100%) and many fibrous tissues such as ligaments, tendons, and skin.

Collagen is the protein that accounts for 70% of the skin structure, keeping the skin looking smooth

Collagen has a long fiber form, mainly distributed in the dermis layer and acts as a binder that connects the tissue cells into a complete structure, keeping the body firm and stable.

In beauty, collagen plays an important role in creating a smooth, elastic look for the skin. The collagen content in your body will gradually wear out with age and collagen production will also decrease.

When collagen is in short supply, you may experience symptoms like joint pain, stiffness in tendons or ligaments, muscle weakness, wrinkled and sagging skin.

Skin aging quickly, less elastic due to lack of collagen

2. Categorize the types of Collagen

2.1 What is Collagen type 1?

Collagen type 1 is made up of dense fibers, accounting for more than 90% of the collagen in the human body.

Collagen type 1 is the type of collagen that contributes to the structure of skin, bones (the main component of the organic part of bones), tendons, blood vessels, cartilage fibers, connective tissue and teeth.

Collagen type 1 accounts for 95% of the collagen in the tendons and 90% of the collagen in the ligaments. They have a twisted structure that will create flexibility and elasticity for the skin, tendons and ligaments, minimizing bone injuries.

Collagen type 1 appears in skin cells

2.2. What is Collagen type 2?

Collagen type 2 is the type of collagen contained in protein fibers in the body, plays an important role in maintaining the elasticity of tissues. Collagen type 2 is found in elastic cartilage, joint cushion and eyes.

In young people, type 2 collagen accounts for more than 80% of the total collagen in the cartilage and in adults, this rate increases to more than 90%. Collagen type 2 is often applied to support products for the prevention and treatment of diseases related to bones and joints.

Collagen type 2 is found in cartilage and joints

Lacking of type 2 collagen will lead to rapid deformation and aging of joint cartilage.

2.3. What is Collagen type 3?

Collagen type 3 is closely related to collagen type 1 and is located mainly in the lining of the stomach, muscles, and blood vessels.

Collagen type 3 works with collagen type 1 to create supplements for skin, bones, and muscles.

3. What are the functions of Collagen type 1, 2, 3?

3.1. Functions of Collagen type 1 and 3

Collagen type 1 and type 3 play an important role in the formation and development of your skin cells.

The two work closely together to strengthen the bonding of skin muscles, help minimize and fade wrinkles, retain moisture and enhance skin elasticity.

Collagen types 1 and 3 are widely used in overcoming aging skin, nourishing skin more youthful

In particular, these two types of collagen are indispensable components in the process of building and supporting bone structure more firmly. In addition, Collagen type 1 and type 3 also contribute significantly to making nails strong, hair grows faster, thicker and healthier.

They also help you build muscle and burn fat. If you want to nourish healthy and beautiful skin, improve skin elasticity, you should choose products containing Collagen type 1 and type 3.

3.2 Functions of Collagen type 2

Unlike Collagen type 1 and type 3, Collagen type 2 plays an important role in bone and joint cartilage. Collagen type 2 accounts for up to 60% of the protein in cartilage and 95% in joint collagen.

Collagen type 2 will provide essential nutrients to build, nourish and maintain the health of joint cartilage. Thanks to that, you can move easily and flexibly, reducing the likelihood of osteoarthritis.

Collagen type 2 supports stronger, more firm and flexible bones and joints

Some bone and cartilage diseases that you can have when collagen type 2 deficiency are: dry joints, arthritis, aching joints, difficult movement, …

Conclusion

Through this article, you probably already know what is Collagen type 1, 2 and 3 are, right? It is worth noting that you cannot supplement with these three types of collagen at the same time or they will not be fully effective.

Nanotechnology applied in drug production is a new breakthrough in medicine. Using this technology is much more effective and efficient than traditional drug production and also reduces side effects.

What is nanotechnology?

Nanopharmaceuticals are new technologies discovered and applied to drug production. This technology allows the production of tablets containing a full range of biologically active substances with an absolute small size measured in nanometers. These pills contain guide molecules that are responsible for recognizing which destination is needed.

Using nanotechnology to produce pharmaceuticals will produce extremely small pills.

Pharmaceutical manufacturing that introduces nanotechnology will produce pills with extremely small sizes and attached to extremely specific identifiers. Drugs when used in the body will go to the desired locations and do not reduce the effect on the way. Due to the high direct recognition of the drug, the drug can be transported immediately to the place of action.

Application in Vietnam

It is known that on December 5, 2014, the Scientific Council of the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology transferred for the first time the application of the research project of nano curcumin from turmeric to patients. for CVI Pharmaceutical Company.

Prof. Dr. Dao Van Phan – former Head of the Department of Pharmacology, Hanoi Medical University, said that turmeric is a precious medicinal plant among traditional medicinal plants. The main active ingredient responsible for the yellow color and effect of turmeric is curcumin. The results of clinical studies in patients with advanced pancreatic cancer also show that the use of curcumin helps to reduce tumor size without causing side effects.

Turmeric is one of the rare medicinal plants of traditional medicine.

According to Prof. Phan, by applying high technology and applying nanotechnology to form curcumin, it will have a super small size, only 1/80,000 of a human hair, well soluble in water, quickly absorbed into the blood, and bioavailable. up to 95% of the absorption of conventional curcumin (only 2%). Due to improved bioavailability and good penetration into cells, nano curcumin is being considered by scientists as the most powerful cancer cell killer.

Other countries

Many other countries have also applied this technology to pharmaceutical production. For example, Cuba has launched a drug to help the immune system fight transplant rejection in tissue transplant surgery. Accordingly, pharmaceuticals produced by this technology have a dosage 3 times lower than traditional drugs, but give quick results. This drug also has the function of preventing immune rejection and is used to treat arthritis.

Conclusion

However, nanopharmaceuticals is an advanced breakthrough technology that has immediate effects and limits many risks, so the cost of nano drugs is not cheap. If it is widely used, many people will not be able to use this drug because of poor economic conditions. Therefore, conventional pharmaceutical treatment is still the safest and most beneficial problem.

Only in 2017, nearly a dozen researchers from the Institute of Biotechnology, the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology left the institute to work abroad. This is just one of many examples of brain drain in academic institutions over the years. Meanwhile, the preferential policy issued for 4 years, no scientists have benefited.

Researcher at Key Laboratory of Gene Technology, Institute of Biotechnology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology. Photo: Loan Le.

A whole lab left the institute.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha, Director of the Institute of Biotechnology, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, about 15 years ago, the Institute of Biotechnology sent more than 200 staff abroad. training, but only about 20-30% go to Vietnam to work. Half of that 20-30% returned to the Institute of Biotechnology, which sent staff for training. However, after returning to the hospital, many staff went out to work.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Chu Hoang Ha, the situation of brain drain was strong, in 2017 alone, there were nearly a dozen staff of the Institute of Biotechnology to work outside, even a job transfer room. . Assoc. Prof Ha shared, the average income of young staff at the Institute is about 4-5 million VND, when the PhD abroad returns, the salary, and the implementation of the new project are about 10 million VND. Most of the staff moved out to work for enterprises or taught at private universities. There are cadres at the Institute who go out to work and earn up to 120 million VND/month, equal to the annual income while at the Institute. When teaching and researching at private universities, the income is also about 20-30 million VND, so the Institute has no way to retain good people, leading staff in research.

Professor Ha shared difficulties in recruiting young cadres. Currently, the policy does not allow the institute to recruit secretaries for professional contracts. While the nature of a research unit does not mean that every university graduate is recruited into the payroll. A fresh graduate must be trained, challenged to get used to research and then sent abroad, usually 5-7 years. “In order to keep them for 5-7 years, but I don’t have a contract so they can work with peace of mind, the young cadres themselves feel that they are not appreciated and have no strings attached, so many cadres leave the country. Outside is to stay, “assoc. Not to mention, many people when returning home fall into shock situations, low wages, poor working conditions compared to foreign countries, unfamiliar working relationships, so it is easy to work outside.

According to Assoc. Ha, the biggest risk of brain drain is that research institutes and scientific branches will not have many excellent and leading staff. Meanwhile, only excellent people make a difference, and a high percentage of excellent scientists can create mutations. Mr. Ha compared, in the 70s and 80s, only the best, the best students with red degrees from Eastern European countries could come to the Academy to work, while now it is extremely difficult to attract young cadres. towel.

In a recent meeting with National Assembly Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan, Prof. Dr. Phung Ho Hai, Director of the Institute of Mathematics, Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology also shared, the recruitment of staff. It is extremely difficult because the Institute has very high professional requirements but is not able to meet attractive salaries for excellent people. Many excellent young cadres of the Institute have a total income of less than 10 million/month.

According to the Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology, recruiting new PhD students for science and technology fields is very difficult due to inadequacies in salary policy and payment mechanism. Meanwhile, to form a strong research group on an in-depth research direction needs a continuous time of 10-15 years. With the current funding and topic review, it is very difficult to form a strong enough research group to thoroughly solve the problem.

Policy issued for 4 years, no scientists have benefited yet.

In order to create favorable conditions and attract scientists to work, on May 12, 2014, the Government issued Decree 40 on the use and personal use of scientific and technological activities. The Decree stipulates the treatment policy for 3 groups of scientists, including leading scientists, scientists assigned to preside over important national science and technology tasks, and talented young scientists.

According to regulations, the leading scientist is granted an annual budget to carry out the activities of the excellent research group in the field of expertise. Financial support for the use of national key laboratories and other key laboratories, financial support for publication of research results, attendance at specialized scientific conferences, financial support for organization International specialized scientific conference in Vietnam. In addition, enjoy monthly incentives equal to 100% of current salary.

Scientists assigned to preside over particularly important national-level science and technology tasks will be able to actively use the allocated funds according to the method of contract spending, arrange and use human resources to carry out the work. assigned tasks, enjoy a salary equivalent to a level 3 senior expert and a monthly incentive equal to 100% of the salary before the time of assignment. In addition, transport facilities, official residences, and free use of national key laboratories and other laboratories to perform tasks are provided.

For talented young scientists, they will be considered for special recruitment without passing the exam to work in a public science and technology organization and enjoy a salary coefficient of 5.08. To be given priority to be sent to participate in specialized post-doctoral research programs, to be given priority to be sent to practice and work for a limited time at overseas science and technology organizations, to be given priority to directly assume the lead role. potential scientific and technological tasks. To be considered for financial support for the use of national key laboratories and other laboratories, financial support for the publication of scientific and technological results, and registration for protection of intellectual property rights for inventions. processing and plant varieties.

Despite such incentives, according to the research of Tien Phong, no scientist has yet been entitled to the remuneration policy of Decree 40, although the circular instructs It is quite detailed and clear. According to the Academy, the documents on the employment and treatment of scientists are not realistic and difficult to implement.

About 15 years ago, the Institute of Biotechnology sent more than 200 officials abroad for training, but only about 20-30% returned to Vietnam to work. Half of that 20-30% returned to the Institute of Biotechnology, which sent staff for training. However, after returning to the hospital, many staff went out to work.

The term Nano technology is very popular these days, surely everyone has heard it. But really, what nanotechnology is, not many people know.

What is nanotechnology?

Nanotechnology, (English: nanotechnology) is the branch of technology concerned with the design, analysis, fabrication and application of structures, devices and systems by controlling shape and size on the nanometer scale (nm, 1 nm = 10−9 m).

Nanotechnology has great applications in life and is a promising technology at the present time and in the future. Imagine there are tiny nano-sized devices that can get inside people, find parts that are “sick” and even better, contribute to that part “well” back. This technology is also rated as cleaner (less polluting) and more efficient than current technologies.

Application of nanotechnology

1. Nanotechnology can save your life

Medical is one of the biggest applications of nanotechnology. As for the treatment of cancer, for example, many different treatments have been tested that can limit the growth of tumors and destroy them at the cellular level. A study has shown very promising results when using gold nanoparticles to fight many types of cancer. These nanoparticles will be delivered to tumors inside the body, then they are heated by infrared laser beams from the outside to be able to destroy the tumors.

Not stopping there, scientists also research a nanorobot project very special. With micro-sized robots, it is possible to go inside the human body to deliver therapeutic drugs to the necessary parts. Such direct delivery of drugs will increase the likelihood and effectiveness of treatment.

Nanotechnology in the not too distant future will help people fight cancer. Even the most difficult-to-treat cancers like brain cancer, doctors will be able to easily treat without opening the patient’s skull or any toxic chemotherapy.

2. Nanotechnology in the electronics around us

Mentioning nanotechnology, you might think of scientific projects being carried out by top professors in the laboratory, the most advanced and advanced technologies. However, you may be using some nanotechnology product right now. Microprocessors made from nanomaterials are quite popular on the market, some products such as mice and keyboards are also coated with an antibacterial nano layer.

Nanotechnology also contributes significantly in the field of electronics, especially energy technology. Future nanobatteries will have a structure in the form of nanowhiskers. This tube structure will make the battery’s poles have a much larger surface area, helping it to store more electricity. While the size of the battery will be increasingly shrinking.

3. Nanotechnology in garment applications

Since the early 2000s, the fashion industry has turned to a new page with the application of nanotechnology in some special fabrics. A very special idea with clothes capable of killing bacteria that cause unpleasant odors in clothes has become a reality with the application of silver nanoparticles. These silver nanoparticles can attract bacteria and destroy their cells. This useful application has been applied on some models of sportswear and more specifically used in a type of deodorant underwear.

Not only at deodorizing, nanotechnology can turn the shirt you are wearing into a mobile power station. Using energy sources such as wind, solar energy and with nanotechnology you will be able to charge your smartphone anytime, anywhere. This application is even more widely used with the idea of making sails using nanomaterials, with the ability to convert natural energy into electricity. However, this app is still in beta.

4. Nanotechnology in nature

It is a fact that the applications of nanotechnology today can be found in nature. For example, an application of nanotechnology on fabrics makes them impervious to water and dirt, you can see the same thing when water droplets roll on the surface of a lotus leaf. The surface of the lotus leaf is covered with a special nanometer-sized hair, making it impossible for water droplets to soak or stick to the surface of the leaf. Simulating this, the scientists created a layer of microscopic nanotubes on the surface of the fabric and from there created waterproof and dirt-resistant clothes.

An example etched with a gecko in the research project of a wall-walking device by research group Robert Full at the University of Berkeley. Scientists have discovered that each gecko’s toe is covered with microscopic hair, which helps them stick to smooth surfaces. Simulating that, the scientists also created pads with layers of microscopic nanotubes that could help climbers better grip the cliffs.

Human society is now very developed, but we are still learning a lot from nature. It is important that the developed scientific technologies contribute to the promotion of life, not the destruction of nature’s life.

5. Food from nanotechnology

Nanotechnology is research, analysis and design on a very small scale of nanometers, so if using nanotechnology to make food, how much is enough to keep us full? Fortunately, we won’t be eating foods made from nanotechnology, but nanotechnology will change the way we eat food every day.

Scientists have experimented with altering foods at the atomic and molecular levels, making these foods change their taste as well as being more nutritious. This means that we will enjoy dishes with extremely strange flavors but still high nutritional value thanks to food nanotechnology.

Nanotechnology will also help store food for many times longer by creating food storage materials that have the ability to kill bacteria. We can see many types of refrigerators now coated with a layer of nano silver inside to kill bacteria. Even some high-end food boxes are now coated with a layer of nano silver inside.

6. Nanotechnology and the future

Scientists all confirm the role of nanotechnology. However, not every field can apply this technology. Behind it is a series of concerns about ethical factors (when using nanotech to interfere with genetic modification), social factors and even human factors.

British Science and Technology Minister Lord Sainsbury said: “Nanotechnology has huge potential. It can bring a lot of benefits in so many different fields. However, we are forced to look at them from a different angle, ethical, health, safety, and social.”

Penn State professor of physics, chemistry, and materials science and engineering Mauricio Terones, one of the study’s authors, said: virus before symptoms appear, or detecting it from samples in the field is difficult, because viral concentrations can be very low – often below the threshold of current detection methods.”< /h5>

“Early detection is important, because the virus can start spreading before we can detect it. The newly developed device allows us to trap and concentrate viruses in extremely dilute samples and select them for their size – smaller than human and bacterial cells, but larger than most cells. proteins and other macromolecules. This device will increase the ability to detect a very small amount of virus by more than 100 times.”

The research team developed and tested a very compact yet highly sensitive handheld virus detector that traps and concentrates viruses in a row of carbon nanotubes. The dilute sample obtained from the patient or the environment is passed through a filter to remove large particles such as bacteria and human cells, which then pass through a row of carbon nanotubes. in the device. The viruses will be trapped and concentrated in the nanotubes until they reach a concentration large enough to be used, while smaller particles pass through and are eliminated. The virus that is concentrated inside the device can then be passed through test plates for identification, including molecular diagnostics by polymeraze chain reaction (PCR), immunoassays, virus isolation. , and gene sequence.

“Because this device isolates and concentrates viruses entirely based on size, we can capture viruses while knowing nothing about their biology – no need to know about them,” Terones said. any other antibodies or molecular labels. Once we have captured and concentrated the viruses, we can use other techniques such as whole-genome sequencing to characterize its characteristics.”

“Most deadly pandemics are caused by viruses,” said Si Yang Zheng, an associate professor of biomedical engineering at Penn State University and the other contact author of the study. caused in the past two decades are all due to emerging viruses. This size-based virus enrichment technology can be particularly effective in identifying emerging viruses, and in detecting new viruses that do not have antibodies or genetic sequence information available. This technology not only enriches the virus to at least 100 times, but it also removes contamination from the host and the environment, and allows direct virus identification by subsequent sequencing as soon as the sample is collected on the ground. environment without the need to culture the virus.”

Viruses such as influenza, HIV/AIDS, Ebola and Zika can break out suddenly and unpredictably and lead to public health disasters. Currently available techniques for the isolation and identification of viruses are slow, expensive, and use very expensive, cumbersome, and demanding equipment and reagents. In addition, many recent epidemics are caused by emerging viruses, for which a way to selectively isolate and characterize them has not yet been established.

Mr. Zheng said, the team has “developed the technique of planting a forest of nanotubes and we can control the distance between the tubes. The spacing of the inner tubes can range from 17 nm to more than 300 nm to selectively contain viruses. The unique properties of this carbon nanotube forest allow it to be integrated into a powerful, resizable and movable micro-device. This device can be adapted for field use without the need for specialized and cumbersome reagent storage devices.”

The researchers tested the new device’s ability to capture viruses on known dilutions of previously identified viruses, as well as samples taken in real life. site of new and unknown viruses.

“We have developed a portable device for the enrichment and isolation of viruses,” said Yin Ting Yeh, a postdoctoral fellow at Penn State University and lead author of the study. based on their physical size. This tunable size-based approach enables rapid viral enrichment directly from field samples, without the use of any antibodies. This device allows for the early detection of emerging diseases and the development of vaccines much earlier when epidemics break out.”

Nanotechnology is playing an important role in human life. The inventions below really amaze many people.

1. Nanopatch.

For those who are afraid of needles, a nano patch called Nanopatch is a great solution. This is the invention of Australian bioengineer Mark Kendall to replace needles with painless, safer, cheaper and more effective.
Nanopatch, about 1 cm2 in size, applies the vaccine directly to the area of immune cells. Nanopatch uses tools to push away micro particles, painless.

The process does not cause bleeding, significantly reducing the risk of infection. In addition, Nanopatch is coated with a dry vaccine, which does not require refrigeration, which greatly reduces all costs.

2. Nano water filter cover.

The BP oil spill in 2010 caused many headaches. However, the future will have a filter layer developed from nanotechnology invented by researchers from Ohio State, USA.

This nano layer incorporates a stainless steel mesh sheet that will trap oil and allow water to pass through.
Nature-inspired nano coating, shaped like a lotus leaf, repels water but retains oil. This nano-coating technology simulates the rough surface of a lotus leaf and is embedded with detergent molecules, which are impervious to oil, similar to a waterproof lotus leaf.

This coating is almost invisible and invisible to the naked eye, can be mass-produced at a cheap price, only about 1 USD/0.09m2.

3. Nano sponge phone charger.

This sponge will help you to charge your phone anywhere in 30 seconds and use it for a day.

Israeli company StoreDot has released a battery that can store a fairly large and faster charge, acting like a super sponge that can be dipped through a power source and saved.
Nano sponge charging is based on the formation of “nano dots”, which change the traditional way of charging batteries, allowing faster penetration and storage of power.

In addition, the team from the University of Wisconsin-Madison has launched a nanogenerator called Nanogenerator, integrated directly into the phone case, made from a piezoelectric polymer (Polyvinylidene floride/PVDF).

The phone is charged by vibration energy.

4. Artificial retina.

Israeli researchers have developed an artificial retina that helps restore vision to millions of visually impaired people.
The biological retina, after being implanted in the eye, will link the living neurons in the patient’s eye with the optic nerve cells through cells that receive artificial light stimulation. As a result, images and movements are sent to the brain.

Patients after being transplanted artificial retina only need to wear glasses with integrated laser energy. The patient’s vision will be significantly restored about 1 week after the artificial retina transplant.

5. Lighting clothing.

The luminous reflective yarn invented by researchers in Shanghai would be an excellent material in apparel.

Each strand is designed from stainless steel, coated with nanoparticles and a photovoltaic polymer layer.
The result is a lightweight and flexible material that glows entirely with its own electrochemical energy. However, the material only glows for a few hours. The researchers are optimistic that they will find a way to make these fibers glow even longer.

Grapes also contain anthocyanins and other phenolic compounds. Anthocyanins, tend to be the main polyphenols of red grapes, while flavan-3-ols (such as catechins) are the more abundant polyphenol compounds in white grapes. Total phenol content, an indicator of food’s antioxidant strength, was higher in red grapes due to a higher proportion of anthocyanins in red grape skins than in white grapes. It was anthocyanins that led scientists to define properties in human health. The amount of phenol in grape skins varies with soil composition, climate, geographical origin, growing practices or exposure to diseases such as fungal infections.

Red wine offers more health benefits than white grapes because many beneficial compounds are present from the skins of grapes, and only red wine ferments with the skin of the grapes. The fermentation time of the wine in contact with the grape skin is a determining factor in the resveratrol content. Typically, non-Muscadin red wines contain about 0.2 to 5.8 mg of resveratrol per liter, depending on the grape variety, because fermentation with the grape skins allows the wine to absorb the resveratrol. In contrast, white wine contains lower levels of resveratrol because it is fermented only after the skins are removed. Wines produced from the Muscadin variety can contain more than 40 mg of resveratrol per liter. In Muscadin grape skins, ellagic acid, myricetin, quercetin, kaemferol and trans-resveratrol are the main polyphenol compounds. Contrary to previous results, ellagic acid, not resveratrol, is the main polyphenol component of Muscadin grapes.

In addition to grape skins, it is also found in large quantities in traditional Japanese and Chinese medicines such as Polygonum cuspidatum, and is present in Red Grapefruit, Peanuts, and some Wild Strawberries such as Mulberry, Blueberry and Bilberry. Mulberry… resveratrol is synthesized in plant cells when attacked by fungi or when nutrients are lacking. Trans-resveratrol is the active form.

In 1997 research reporting the anti-cancer potential of trans-resveratrol prompted many supplement companies to spring up to produce this substance. Additional studies, performed in cell cultures and fruit flies, protozoa, fish, and vertebrates, have shown anticancer activity, and suggest trans-resveratrol provides additional antiplatelet benefits. Anti-aging, anti-fat as well as immune system booster. In these studies, the administration of resveratrol reduced animal cartilage inflammation promoted bacterial cholesterol suppression, inhibited T-cell reproduction, promoted apoptosis of various tumor cells, and resulted in prolongation of age. The lifespan of fruit flies, worms, yeasts. These effects have led to people targeting the benefits of improving cardiovascular disease and diabetes outcomes, promoting chemopreventive chemotherapy, helping with weight loss and Alzheimer’s disease, and extending human life through resveratrol. .

A topical formulation of resveratrol with anti-aging potential has recently been reported, and an increasing number of resveratrol application reports are appearing. However, human clinical evidence for the efficacy of resveratrol is lacking.

Potential and mechanism of action.

A growing body of evidence from molecular, cellular and animal studies suggests multiple mechanisms of action that support the health-promoting properties of resveratrol. However, some data are contradictory. For example, in vitro studies have found that resveratrol both increases and decreases immune function in human cells. Although resveratrol may slow blood vessel growth, it has also been shown to slow wound healing.

Cardioprotective properties.

The cardioprotective potential of resveratrol involves multiple mechanisms. In ischemia-reperfusion animal models, resveratrol reduced lipid peroxidation, reduced organ damage, and improved myocardial ischemia. In vitro, resveratrol showed stronger anti-inflammatory activity than aspirin and ibuprofen, inhibited nitric oxide in activated macrophages, improved mitochondrial function, and decreased interleukin 1 (IL-1), IL-8 and weakness granulocyte macrophage colony-stimulating factor.

Immunological, anti-platelet, anti-inflammatory and anti-cancer effects.

Resveratrol can suppress reproductive T cells, which cause immune responses. Resveratrol inhibits the growth of ovarian, colon and breast tumors; acute growth of white blood cells; preventing liver cancer cells from invading local tissues – all potential mechanisms for reducing cancer risk. The antiplatelet properties appear to be the result of resveratrol reducing platelet adhesion and causing blood vessels to dilate. In animal models, resveratrol was found to prevent reduction of amyloid peptide-related glutathione, protect against oxidative damage caused by peptides, and reduce plaque formation in the brain – all contributing to a protective mechanism against Alzheimer’s disease.

Anti-aging effect.

A lot of attention has been paid to resveratrol’s potential to improve brain performance and heart health – hence the rush to claim the substance as anti-aging Ginseng without proof. Several observations of protective brain health due to the association between red wine consumption and low incidence of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease suggest that resveratrol is beneficial against neurodegeneration. In many studies, resveratrol has been shown to mimic energy-limiting effects through sirtuin activation, increasing lifespan in mice and invertebrates by improving mitochondrial function and insulin sensitivity. , and control the activity of transcription factors. Sirtuin activation, a mammalian ability, may contribute to the anti-amyloid properties of resveratrol as a potential mechanism for improving human lifespan. Resveratrol in vitro clearance of amyloid brain peptide is implicated as a mechanism for improving cognitive function in humans. Similar mechanisms provide a fundamental role in the prevention of age-related disease.

Resveratrol reduces oxidative damage to frozen human semen.

Resveratrol, an important polyphenol in red wine, reduces damage to frozen human semen, according to a Brazilian study. Resveratrol has been known to reduce neurodegeneration, tumorigenesis and atherosclerosis, as reported in the February 3, 2010 issue of Fertility and Sterility.

In this study, Dr. Fabio F. Pasqualotto of the University of Caxia do Sul et al., incubated sperm samples with or without resveratrol, before freezing. Sperm from 10 healthy men who were able to bear children and 20 who were unable to bear children.

At baseline, men who were unable to conceive had low sperm concentration and low motility, and met the Kruger criterion for shape, compared with fertile men. Childless male sperm samples also had lower levels of superoxid dismutase (SOD) and catalase activity and higher lipid damage.

But after incubation with resveratrol, SOD activity increased in sperm samples from infertile men (no change in sperm samples from fertile men). Furthermore, resveratrol prevented storage-induced lipid damage, a dose-independent effect.

Resveratrol did not improve sperm motility induced by preservation, nor did it affect sperm concentration and shape.

There are several antioxidants that can help patients with infertility, including resveratrol. Using antioxidants can help patients improve semen quality even when the semen is frozen, says Dr. Pasqualotto.

The two problems posed for resveratrol are:

– What form and concentration to use for best absorption and best results?

–Which source of resveratrol should be used in accordance with the needs of industry in Vietnam while still ensuring effectiveness and safety for patients?

Concentration, formulation, dosage and toxicity

Concentrations vary in products: resveratrol concentrations in food and drink vary from product to product. By weight comparison, peanuts have only half as much resveratrol as red wine. Concentrations of resveratrol in Cranberry and Grapefruit juice were similar. Blueberry is twice as tall as Bilberry, but different soil conditions cause different concentrations. The concentration of resveratrol in these fruits is much lower than in Red Grapefruit, and cooking further reduces the concentration by up to 50%.

The content of trans-resveratrol in wine depends on grape variety, climate and processing method. Red wines, especially made from black pinot grapes (5.13 mg/dL), contain the highest concentrations of resveratrol and the lowest concentrations of white wines (1-5% of red wines). In addition, grapes grown in humid and cold climates have higher concentrations of resveratrol than grapes grown in hot and dry climates. In general, a 120 ml serving of red wine provides about 320 mcg of resveratrol (0.2 – 5.8 mg/litre).

Production formula and dosage.

Resveratrol is now synthetically formulated and sold as nutritional support in capsules or tablets. The main resveratrol product is made from Japanese knotweed, in the form of dried roots, containing up to 187 mg of resveratrol/kg. Supplements are available in pharmacies and nutritional supplement stores in doses ranging from 15 to 600 mg per capsule, and the manufacturer recommends high doses as potent, but no evidence supporting the recommended dose for resveratrol. In humans, the oral bioavailability of resveratrol tablets is questionable, as less than 5% of the product is present in plasma following oral administration and is rapidly metabolized in the liver and intestines. Even after drinking red wine, serum resveratrol levels have not been shown to be sufficient to produce the physiological effects seen in animals and cell samples. These results raise the question, is resveratrol, red wine or the combination of active ingredients (including procyanidins) in red wine really beneficial for health?

In summary, the clinical efficacy and potential toxicities of resveratrol are not known sufficiently as a nutritional aid.

Toxicity and contraindications.

Neither the US nor the European Food and Drug Administration recommends maximum consumption to avoid resveratrol toxicity. However, high intake of resveratrol in red wine is limited because of the toxic effects of alcohol. The toxicity of wine seems to be low when used in moderation, about 2 120 ml glasses for men and 1 120 ml glass for women.

Because of resveratrol’s antiplatelet properties, patients who are taking anticoagulants or antiplatelet drugs or are taking herbs with a potential increased risk of bleeding such as garlic, feverfew, ginger, ginkgo biloba, ginseng, turmeric Care must be taken when taking resveratrol. In addition, resveratrol has been reported to increase insulin sensitivity, and should be used with caution in patients taking antidiabetic medications. Although resveratrol is a weak phytoestrogen, it is a mixed agonist and antagonist of estrogenic activity, and resveratrol should not be used in women with estrogen-dependent cancer.

Which source of resveratrol should I use?

From the above information, we see that the climate in Vietnam is not ideal for growing grapes to produce resveratrol. France is the first country to introduce the process of producing resveratrol from grapes, but the cost is not known which is the cheapest and still ensures quality, because it can be polluted by ecology.

Root gas tubers have high resveratrol content, can be grown in the North and highlands of Vietnam, resveratrol can be exploited.

RUSSIA USE NANOTECHNOLOGY TO TREAT NEURODEGENERATION

To date, these neurodegenerative diseases have been difficult to treat. From the outside, the brain is protected by the skull, and from the inside it is protected by a blood-brain “barrier”. As such, getting the drug to the place of need becomes so complex that it is largely impossible to overcome this barrier. Biochemistry experts of Lomonosov University used nanotechnology to deliver drugs to the affected brain area.

The drug is an antioxidant enzyme “catalase”, which is delivered directly into nerve tissue by macrophages. Catalase has an important advantage over other antioxidants because it is a catalytic enzyme. This enzyme molecule has the ability to selectively and efficiently process many of the active oxygen molecules in the inflamed area.

In the neurodegenerative condition, the brain appears inflammatory foci. Macrophages have the ability to penetrate through 650km of capillaries of the blood-brain barrier and deliver essential pharmaceuticals to diseased neurons.

Active oxygen species, which are formed in excess in cells during inflammation and tumor formation, simply “suck” into their own immune cells. Therefore, it is reasonable to hide antioxidants in macrophages.

A group of Russian biochemists have successfully tested the new treatment in animals and are now preparing to test the new technology on volunteers.

Berberin – the main active ingredient in the plant plays an important role in lowering cholesterol, preventing coronary heart disease, and improving heart function.

Berberin is the main active ingredient in Coscinium Usitatum – a type of woody vine. The reason why Coscinium Usitatum is so named is that the wood in its trunk and roots are yellow – the characteristic color of the active ingredient Berberin.

Usually, when it comes to Berberin, most of us immediately think of its effective effects on the digestive tract. But a lot of recent research shows that berberin also plays an important role in preventing coronary heart disease and improving heart function.

Berberin and the effect of reducing blood fat, preventing atherosclerosis

Scientists discovered that the active ingredient berberin has an active role in protecting the vessel wall, preventing the formation of atheroma. Because berberin acts on the vascular endothelium (lining inside the blood vessel) and the smooth muscle cell layer of the vessel wall, thereby increasing the elasticity and suppleness of the vessel wall; Berberin suppresses the inflammatory response, fights the formation of atheroma from the very beginning.

Berberin is of interest to pharmacologists in lipid metabolism through inhibition of cholesterol and triglyceride synthesis in the liver. In fact, since 2004, in many Western countries, Berberin has been used in the treatment of hyperlipidemia (blood fat) in many Western countries, it is even considered “a new cholesterol-lowering drug”. Studies have evaluated the effectiveness of Berberin as equivalent to Statins – a class of drugs commonly used to lower blood lipids. It was also noted that the combination of Berberin with Simvastatin in the treatment of blood lipids significantly reduced levels of blood LDL-c, total cholesterol as well as Trigiceride – far better than Simvastatin alone.

Berberin – cardiac rehabilitation

In addition to the effects on blood vessels, many studies have demonstrated the role of berberin in enhancing heart endurance. Research conducted in China has opened up new hope for patients with myocardial hypertrophy and chronic heart failure because berberin has the ability to inhibit myocardial hypertrophy, improve indicators of contractility. , the ability of the heart muscle to dilate and regulate sympathetic nerve activity in the heart.

Another study in China in patients with congestive heart failure or idiopathic myocardial ischemia showed that the addition of berberin to the standard treatment regimen significantly improved left ventricular function, increased physical strength, dyspnea, fatigue also improved significantly compared with the control group that did not use Berberin.

From the initial positive results, currently Berberin is still the destination of many studies to apply the production of drugs to treat cardiovascular diseases in the future. Currently, the use of berberin alone for cardiovascular disease is still in the trial process and requires official recommendations from pharmacologists around the world.

In Vietnam, Coscinium Usitatum containing berberin active ingredient is used for cardiovascular disease in the form of health supplement, which is combined with many heart-healthy ingredients such as Dan Sam extract, Natto extract, L-carnitin. , is evaluated as an effective treatment support solution for people with cardiovascular disease, contributing to reducing anxiety about cardiovascular events and having a healthier heart.

SPIRULINA AND THE AMAZING USES OF SPIRULINA

Spirulina (scientific name is Spirulina platensis) is a green spiral filamentous microalgae, which can only be observed as a filamentous spiral composed of many single cells under the microscope. The latest studies show that they are not from the genus Spirulina, but from the genus Arthrospira. The current scientific name of this species is Arthrospira platensis, belonging to the order Oscilatoriales, family Cyanobacteria. Spirulina has been studied for many years. They have superior properties and high nutritional value. Scientists around the world have considered spirulina to be a beneficial organism for mankind. This algae was accidentally discovered by French Dr. Clement in the 1960s while visiting Lake TChad in Central Africa. This scientist couldn’t help but be surprised that the land was barren and hungry all year round, but the aborigines here were very strong and healthy. When Clement learned about their food, she discovered that during the non-hunting season, they only used a kind of blue cake of which main ingredient was something they picked up from the lake. Through analysis, she discovered that this cake called Dihe is spirulina.

The World Health Organization (WHO) recognizes spirulina as the best supplement for human health in the 21st century. The United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA) recognizes it as one of the best sources of protein.

The vitamin content is very high. Every 1 kg of spirulina contains 55 mg of vitamin B1, 40 mg of vitamin B2, 3 mg of vitamin B6, 2 mg of vitamin B12, 113 mg of vitamin PP, 190 mg of vitamin E, 4,000 mg of carotene, of which β-Caroten is about 1700 mg (increased 1000% more than carrots), 0.5 mg folic acid, inosite about 500-1,000 mg

Mineral content can vary with growing conditions, typically iron is 580–646 mg/kg (5,000% more than spinach), manganese is 23–25 mg/kg, Mg is 2,915-3,811 /kg, selenium is 0.4 mg/kg, calcium, potassium, phosphorus are all about 1,000-3,000 mg/kg or higher (calcium content is more than 500%).

Most of the fat in Spirulina is unsaturated fatty acids, of which linoleic acid 13,784 mg/kg, γ-linoleic 11,980 mg/kg. This is rare in other natural foods.

Carbohydrate content is about 16.5%, currently there is information about using glucose extracted from spirulina to conduct anti-cancer studies.

In spirulina contains many types of anti-ageing substances such as β-carotene, vitamin E, γ-linoleic acid. These substances have the ability to eliminate free radicals through antioxidant effects, slow down the ageing of cells, and at the same time, iron and calcium rich in algae are both easy to absorb and have preventive and supportive effects. Treatment of common diseases in the elderly such as anemia, osteoporosis. Japanese scientists have researched that middle-aged and elderly people using spirulina and being physically active is the secret to human longevity. The health-protective meaning of spirulina is that after taking it, all the nutrients the body needs are replenished at the same time, which is beneficial for metabolism, assimilation of the organization, and enhances health. resistance thereby achieving the purpose of disease prevention and promotion of health recovery. In Japan, the elderly do not consider spirulina as a temporary health measure, but rather for long-term health protection to limit medical and hospital costs.

Standard nutrition, ability to fight cancer, fight HIV/AIDS.

Anti-malnutrition products are very good for children, the elderly and some other subjects such as patients after surgery, nutritional deficiencies.

Spirulina mixed with good quality honey (or egg-white) to nourish the skin very effectively.

Spirulina aids in the treatment of hepatitis, liver failure, patients with high blood cholesterol and diffuse dermatitis, diabetes, peptic ulcer and weakness or pancreatitis, cataracts and insufficiency vision loss, hair loss.

Researchers have shown that spirulina increases resistance to adversity and increases endurance in exercise.
With a moderate dose, spirulina balances nutrition, synthesizes endogenous substances, increases hormones and regulates physiology, giving men a natural, sustainable “strength”.

When using spirulina, its active ingredients will regulate hormones, balance the body, make a woman more “wet”, the body will be younger, can easily be seen on the skin.
In addition, spirulina has effects that have been studied by scientists such as stimulating bone marrow cells, restoring hematopoietic function, reducing blood fat, lowering blood pressure, skincare, and beauty.
